Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live is an event based on the popularity of the children’s toy. Hot Wheels toys were first created in 1968 by Elliot Handler (an innovator), Ira Gilford (a rocket scientist), and Harry Bentley Bradley (a car designer).² They became the number one selling toy in the world, selling more than 16.5 to 22.5 cars every single second. The brand has since evolved from selling toy cars to selling out stadiums, bringing a childhood favourite to life.³

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live was originally established in late 2018.⁴ The tour started with 23 shows in 2019 and quickly expanded internationally. The tour was successful and launched its second tour in 2020, expanding to arena venues across Europe.⁴ After a brief pause during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the shows resumed in August 2021 and held their first-ever show in Qatar in December of that year.⁴ By 2024, Hot Wheels Live hosted its first stadium show and dirt show for the league.⁴
