With the launch of Seattle Sounders FC, the World's Game has arrived in Seattle!  In March of 2009, Sounders FC begins its first season in Major League Soccer, and the team promises to be exciting.  Nearly 18,000 season tickets have been sold and two international stars are already signed:  America's most decorated goalkeeper and Olympia native Kasey Keller, plus Swedish and former Arsenal midfield sensation Freddie Ljungberg. 

The buzz about the club extends beyond the field.  This is the professional sports franchise in the U.S. which empowers its supporters.  Through Democracy in Sports, the fans voted for the club's name and they hold the power to vote out the general manager.  That's one idea of minority ownder and comedian Drew Carey.  Another is the creation of a marching band.  Along with the bright Rave Green emblazoned with sponsor Microsoft's 'Xbox 360 Live' emblazoned across the chest, all of these moves make Sounders FC a truly unique sports team.
