As heard on the John Lewis Christmas advert New York City’s pop-jazz sensation, Postmodern Jukebox, are set to take to the festive charts this year with their beautiful cover of Blink-182’s ‘All The Small Things’, featuring as the soundtrack to this year’s festive John Lewis advert.
Always a highlight in the run-up to the holiday season, this years’ most anticipated and prestigious Christmas TV advert sees Postmodern Jukebox join a stellar line-up of artists who have been chosen to represent the retailer over the years including Lily Allen, Ellie Goulding, Bastille, Gabrielle Aplin and Elton John.
The advert features vocals from Mike Geier as his alter-ego Puddles Pity Party, (a 1800s-era clown) who found fame after debuting on Postmodern Jukebox’s viral cover of Lorde’s “Royals” back in 2013. The video tells the emotional story of a man learning to skate to create common ground with his new foster child, in accompaniment of Puddles’ stunning vocal – a poignant interpretation to reflect the country’s current mood.
Postmodern Jukebox has long been an impressive breeding ground for talent with guest singers, dancers and instrumentalists joining each tour, many of whom have gone on to become huge stars. Next year, they return to the UK for what is becoming a real ‘Must-See’ annual event.
