Shalamar Biography
Shalamar is formed of: Howard Hewett - a Grammy award winning artist, largely considered one of the top 10 greatest male soul singers of all time; Jeffrey Daniel – an award-winning choreographer, famous for introducing body popping to the UK and for teaching Michael Jackson how to Moonwalk; and Carolyn Griffey – heir to the Solar Records dynasty and a passionate soul performer.
In the late 1970s and early 1980s the name Shalamar became synonymous with the contemporary sound of catchy feel-good dance music. They are best known for a string of worldwide hits such as The Second Time Around, Make That Move, I Owe You One, I Can Make You Feel Good, There It Is, Friends and of course their often copied anthem A Night to Remember.
