Davido, born David Adedeji Adeleke, is the one of the hottest artists to come out of Nigeria. Born on 21st November 1992 in Atlanta, USA, but brought up in Lagos. This young man is making serious waves in the industry both in Nigeria and abroad following his huge breakthrough into the music scene in 2011 with his hit debut single ‘Back When’ featuring Naeto C.

Davido started music professionally four years ago, but has been performing and making music since the age of 11. At 18, he set up a record label called ‘HKN Music’ jointly owned with his older brother. The saying “If you want something done, do it yourself” is what led to the birth of the label. Davido also believes that as a producer and recording artiste, he would be in the best position to create music that suits his style. When asked to choose an ideal producer to work with, he responded “...myself, because I know what I want exactly!” He is however quick to mention that he would definitely be excited to work with brilliant producers in and outside Africa.

In only 4 years, Davido has garnered a huge fan base in Africa, the US and the UK . The young talent’s globally released single Skelewu is enjoying massive media attention and airplay online, on radio and TV outside Nigeria. In his own words, his greatest reward so far is “having my family and friends support my dream. I can’t ask God for more”. Within no time Davido took everyone by storm when he released Dami Duro, which was said to be one of the top hits in Nigeria. Since then, he has also released other hit songs. Most popular are Skelewu, Gobe, Aye, Naughty, Owo ni koko and The Sound, which have been received amazingly well.

The 22 year old African star has a fan base of over 45,000,000 in Nigeria alone and his YouTube channel has over 70,000,000 views in just three short years.
