Hailing from California, The Pharcyde are on a par with A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Pete Rock & CL Smooth + Gang Starr as the best groups from the so called "Golden Era" of Hip Hop.
Originaly formed in 1989, The Pharcyde's debut album Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde came out in 1992 and featured a slew of tunes which have since gone on to become classics of 1990's Hip Hop such as Passin' me by, Ya Mama, Soul Flower, Otha Fish and more.
Labcabincalifornia was released in 1996 on Go Discs! in the UK and featured production from Jay Dee ( J Dilla ), Diamond D & M-Walk. The albums featured two absoluty incredible singles with Runnin and Drop, the latter having a memorable video directed by Spize Jonze.
