The Lox Biography
Comprised of Sheek Louch, Styles P, and Jadakiss, The LOX entered the scene in 1997, after Mary J. Blige passed on their mixtape to Sean “P. Diddy” Combs. They collaborated on the single ‘It’s All About The Benjamins’, garnering the trio worldwide attention. The debut album ‘Money, Power & Respect’ (1998) went platinum, peaking at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart and #1 on Top R&B/Hip-hop Albums. The follow-up gold album ‘We Are The Streets’ peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 chart and #2 on Top R&B/Hip-hop Albums. Meanwhile Sheek Louch, Styles P, and Jadakiss each rose to individual successes with critically acclaimed solo albums, businesses and tours. In 2014, ‘The Trinity EP’ was released, with the group selling out venues across the US, Canada and the UK, and in 2016, in partnership with Roc Nation, The LOX released ‘Filthy America… It’s Beautiful’.
In 2020, The LOX released fourth studio album ‘Living Off Xperience’. In 2021, The LOX made history squaring off with The Diplomats, aka Dipset, in the most legendary VERZUZ of all time, arguably the most viral music moment that year. Most recently, The LOX graced the stage of the 2023 Grammy Awards to mark 50 years of the hip hop, alongside fellow icons including Questlove, Method Man, Public Enemy, Missy Elliot, Busta Rhymes, Run DMC, Ice-T and Queen Latifah.
