Josef Kuhn — known by his moniker nickname jos — is a multi-instrumentalist and producer originally from Richmond, VA, now based in Nashville, TN. Disillusioned with his formal performance studies in college, Kuhn began gravitating toward the world of songwriting and self-production, and what started as a personal pivot quickly became a creative breakthrough.

In 2019, encouraged by friends, he quietly uploaded a handful of his first self-written tracks, only to be met with a remarkable early response that propelled him into a growing creative orbit. Since then, Kuhn has established himself as a go-to collaborator, writing and producing alongside artists like Samia, Annie DiRusso, The Greeting Committee, Kristiane, and Hannah Cole, while simultaneously cultivating his own sonic identity.

Recently, Kuhn stepped back from the demands of touring to create space for what mattered most — meaningful relationships, personal clarity, and above all, the music itself.

That intentional pause led to the creation of his forthcoming full-length album, Buckshot — a raw, genre-spanning body of work shaped by vulnerability, reinvention, and the urgency to make something that feels unmistakably his.
