TØKIO M¥ERS Biography
After capturing the nation as Winner of Britain’s Got Talent in 2017, TØKIO M¥ERS was dubbed a ‘Rising Star’ by Simon Cowell. His sense of originality and musicianship garnered immense praise from both the judges and public, subsequently earning him a record deal with Syco Entertainment.
Tokio went on to reach top 5 status in the UK official album charts with his debut cinematic album ‘Our Generation', the only pianist ever to achieve this feat.
The album went gold, selling over 100,000 copies in the UK alone.
He has become one of the most innovative artists of today, creating his own unique artistic lane. His alchemist approach to writing and performing classical & contemporary music is what sets Tøkio apart from his peers. Drawing on his life experiences, Tokio and turns them into cleverly constructed compositions, which seamlessly integrates music from the past and present.
Since his success, Tøkio has performed sold out UK and Ireland Tours in the UK & Ireland including the iconic London ‘Printworks’ venue for his ‘Our Generation’ tour.
He has performed twice at the London’s legendary Royal Albert Hall, supported by none other than the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for Classic FM Live.
As a Classic Brit Award Winner for PPL's Breakthrough 'Artist of the Year’ he has co-produced the 'Artists for Grenfell' charity single in support of The London Community Foundation. He has performed to a sellout audience at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, and performed at the Fifa Fan Festival for the World Cup in Qatar 2022 with 60,000 attendees in total.
More recently he has received critical acclaim, collaborating with Jaeger Le Coultre as part of the ‘Made of Makers' programme - which led to Tøkio featuring in Vogue Hong Kong, GQ Japan, New York Times, Culture L.A, as well as seeing him perform in Shanghai China, Los Angeles U.S, & London U.K.
Lastly, it gives us great pleasure to announce that TØKIO M¥ERS will also be releasing a series of production albums, “a trilogy” Tøkio says, towards the end of 2024 into 2025 - these albums will feature piano, gospel choir, orchestra and more as a continuation from his debut album ‘Our Generation’.
