The X Factor UK” season 12 winner Louisa Johnson returned to the stage where it all began and it seems like she’s all grown up. Johnson debuted her new single “So Good” during the results show which aired in the U.S. on Oct. 31 on AXS TV. In 2015, Johnson was the youngest winner to ever claim “The X Factor UK” title at just 17, but her soulful voice is way beyond her years. She’s 18 now and she brought superstar poise and newfound confidence to her upbeat return performance.

Louisa Johnson is one of those rare singers who can ace just about any vocal challenge. “So Good” is the lead single from her upcoming debut album which is slated to drop in 2017. Everything from her racy outfit to her commanding stage presence suggests she’s transitioning from a girl into a woman and finally easing into her own sense of artistry.

It’s always fun to see who returning “X Factor” champs and guest artists endorse in the current season. Louisa Johnson gave big props to 5 After Midnight. She told host Dermot O’Leary, “I just think they’ve got their own sort of swag. They can sing. They can dance. They look cool. I love them.”

Garnering this kind of praise has got to make Louis Walsh’s R & B boyband feel good. They thrive in the same kind of soulful lane Johnson rides in. And, they totally smashed their take on “Thriller” for Fright Night week. Next week should give them even more of an edge as the remaining finalists gear up for “Boyband vs. Girlband” week.

“So Good” is available on iTunes and cracked the Top 10 on Official Charts. It currently holds the No. 6 spot on the U.K. Official Trending Chart. She’s in good company in this ranking with Drake’s “Fake Love” topping the chart, following Maroon 5 feat. Kendrick Lamar’s single “Don’t Wanna Know” coming in at No. 2. Shawn Mendes “Mercy,” Jonas Blue feat. Raye’s new single “By Your Side” debuts at No. 4 and “Love on Me” by Galantis & Hook N Sling” sits directly above “So Good” at No. 5.

Johnson notably ranks above “X Factor UK” champ Little Mix at No. 8 and and runner up Olly Murs at No. 10 as well as international superstar Lady Gaga who holds No. 9 with “Million Reasons.” This is great news as her debut “X Factor UK” winner’s single “Forever Young” didn’t fare so well.

“The X Factor UK” airs in the U.S. on Sundays and Mondays at 8 p.m. Et/7C on AXS TV.
