The Dramatics and Evelyn 'Champagne' King bringing soul to The Novo on Aug. 31

Classic soul artists The Dramatics and Evelyn “Champagne” King are teaming up for a special $15 show at The Novo by Microsoft in downtown Los Angeles on Aug. 31. The show goes on sale this Friday, July 21, but you can access pre sale tickets the day before by using the code GREATESTHITS. Get yours right here on AXS.com.

The Dramatics emerged from Detroit’s robust soul and vocal music scene in the mid ‘60s before breaking out with the top 10 hit “Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get” in 1971. The group had a number of other successful singles through the decade -- including the 1972 classic “In The Rain” -- and they were later featured in Snoop Dogg’s Blaxploitation homage “Doggy Dogg World.”

Evelyn “Champagne” King went platinum with her 1977 debut album thanks to her best-known single, the disco hit “Shame.” She went on to have success in the early ‘80s before taking a break from music. She returned in 2007 with Open Book, her first album in 12 years.
