SXSW event to benefit Whole Planet Foundation

The SXSW Festival has grown into one of the biggest events in the country, featuring musical performances, industry panels and a film festival. It is held every year during March in Austin, Texas, and has helped launch the careers of many of today's biggest stars.

One of the special events this year is a two-day concert event to be held on Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21 called Southwest Invasion. The Red Boot PR family has teamed up with innovative music marketing company Quantum Collective for the fourth annual event which is powered by WorldArts, in association with Whole Foods Market® & Whole Planet Foundation®.

This free, all ages, public (no badges required) event will take place at the Whole Foods Flagship Rooftop Plaza & Patio 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with over 40 artists on two stages. This year’s announced headliners include The Zombies, Big Data, The Sheepdogs, X Ambassadors, of Verona, Jukebox The Ghost, Civil Twilight, Bad Veins, Hamish Anderson, Mystery Skulls, Rocky Dawuni, Greg Holden, and On An On.

What makes this such a special event is the fact that it will be live streamed via the presenting partner, WorldArts, so that people who can not make it to Austin for SXSW will be able to see this event. In addition. the event is trying to raise at least $5,000 for Whole Planet Foundation. These proceeds would create 26 new microloans to help 130 women entrepreneurs around the world lift themselves out of poverty. You can find out more information or donate by clicking here.

Laura Goldfarb of Red Boot PR had this to say about the event: "The Quantum Collective Southwest Invasion has a reputation of showcasing artists on the verge of major breaks ... We’re excited to watch the growth of the incredible artists on this year’s lineup."
