So long, “Hooked on a Feeling”; looks like things are a little Sweeter in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”

On Dec. 3, Marvel released the official teaser trailer the second installment in the sci-fi comic series and like the trailers for its predecessor, the clip is soundtracked to a cinematic slice of classic rock. In this case, it’s the song “Fox on the Run” by the British glam rock band Sweet (or The Sweet, as their OG fans called them).

The band’s first self-written and produced single, “Fox on the Run” was an international smash for Sweet when it was released in March of 1975. Prior to that hit, Sweet enjoyed a string of successful singles in their native England, including “Little Willy” and “The Ballroom Blitz.”

However, “Fox on the Run” would prove to be their biggest success at home and internationally. With its giant synth lead and catchy hook, it’s been a staple of movie soundtracks for decades, appearing in "Detroit Rock City," "Dazed and Confused" and "The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard."

With its inclusion in the “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” teaser, the song sets the stage for another excellent collection of ‘70s rock and soul music.
