EDM DJ Steve Aoki premiered the music video for "Back 2 U" on June 10. He teams up with fellow DJ Boehm and pop-rock group Walk the Moon for the colorful clip.
Aoki and Boehm first released "Back 2 U" featuring Walk the Moon back in May. The two DJs are known for their multiple mixes that have lit up music festivals all over the world. Walk the Moon made waves last year with the breakthrough single "Shut Up and Dance."
The collaboration marks the band's first time delving into the EDM world and the two producers make sure it's a smooth transition. "Back" blends Walk the Moon's power pop sound with a blast of tropical-tinged beats. Frontman Nicholas Petricca sings, "So now I'm running like you set me free out in the wild." It's an adventurous detour for all three acts that yields whimsically wonderful results.
In the music video for "Back 2 U," Petricca leads a charge of people holding photos of their loved ones. Following in the song's loving message, the camera continuously zooms into the photos, creating a chain of people. Aoki and the rest of Nicholas' bandmates pop in by way of kaleidoscopic shots. It's a colorful celebration of all kinds of relationships through the lenses of fans from all walks of life.
"Back 2 U" is now available on iTunes and Apple Music. Walk the Moon released a single, "Work This Body," earlier this year from 2014's Talking is Hard album. The group was scheduled to tour in support of the song, but the trek was cancelled in April so Petricca could take care of his ailing father.
