Combine rock with rap and folk, and you’ll get a good idea of the performance lineup for Sloss Music & Arts Festival. The festival, which is in its inaugural year, has released its musical lineup and Modest Mouse, Band of Horses, Primus and Tyler, the Creator are among the musical acts.
A total of about 25 performers were announced as part of the musical lineup. In addition to the performers noted above, Sloss Fest includes St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Cage The Elephant, Manchester Orchestra, Cathedrals and Milo Greene were among the performers noted in the announcement. For the complete performance lineup, take a look at Sloss Fest’s website. As noted on the festival’s website, more than 30 bands are scheduled to perform on three stages during the event. Sloss Fest also stated on its website that it is a family-friendly event. The festival's performance lineup was announced via a press release and posted on the festival’s website and official Facebook page on March 24. Fan reaction to the lineup was strong, with several fans complimenting festival organizers. A performance schedule will be released at a later date.
On the festival’s website, it was noted a major headlining musician will be announced at a later date. Additional bands will be announced later, too. As of press time, it is unknown when the additional performers will be announced. Tickets to the festival go on sale March 27, and general admission and VIP passes will be available for purchase. The inaugural Sloss Fest will be held July 18-19 at Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark in Birmingham, Alabama. In addition to musical performances, the festival includes cooking demonstrations, iron pouring, and local food and art.
