Sheppard to join Meghan Trainor on 2015 ‘That Bass’ tour

Australian indie pop band Sheppard will support 20-year old American singer, songwriter and producer, Meghan Trainor on her 2015 “That Bass” tour, which kicks off in February and will hit major markets in the U.S. The tour will start in Vancouver, BC, stop in cities such as San Francisco, CA, Dallas, TX, Detroit, MI, Philadelphia, PA, New York, NY and end in Boston, MA mid-march.

The band formed in 2009 and consists of Amy Sheppard on lead vocals and harmonica, George Sheppard on lead vocals, keyboards, and piano, Jason Bovino on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Michael Butler on lead guitar, Emma Sheppard on bass guitar and backing vocals and Dean Gordon on drums. Past member was Jared Tredly who departed in 2013. The group recently made their U.S. television debut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The band is best known for the single, “Geronimo” which has reached number one on the ARIA Singles Chart and has been certified 4x platinum by ARIA. The band has also been nominated for 7 ARIA awards and the single is the highest selling single of 2014 in Australia. The single is from their debut album, Bombs Away, which was released on July 11, 2014. They recently won Breakthrough Independent Artist at the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) Awards. The album's second single, "Something's Missing” peaked at number 35 on the ARIA Singles Chart.

Sheppard will be making a stop in Chicago on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at House of Blues located at 329 N. Dearborn Street. Tickets are on sale now. Doors open at 6pm. Performance starts at 7pm. This show is an all ages show.
