Riverfest artist preview: Sheryl Crow

Arkansas' premier Arts and Music festival, Riverfest, is only weeks away. It is time to start getting everyone ready for the top acts performing this year at Little Rock's official welcome to summer extravaganza. Today, we take a look at the Friday, May 22 headliner on the Miller Lite/Arkansas Federal Credit Union Stage, Sheryl Crow. Crow was born Februrary 11, 1962 in Kennett, Missouri. She has worked as a back up singer for Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, George Harrison and Don Henley, among others.

She is a former school teacher. Her break through song was "All I Wanna Do," from 1994. Other hits were "Strong Enough," "If It Makes You Happy," "Everyday Is A Winding Road," "A Change Would Do You Good," "My Favorite Mistake," "Soak Up The Sun," "Picture," "The First Cut Is The Deepest" and "Always On Your Side," with Sting.

Crow has scored nine Grammy Awards and appeared on many TV shows. Her mom was a piano teacher and her dad played the trumpet in addition to being a lawyer. In high school Crow was an all-state track star. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia.
