AXS TV has announced that a show by former Beatle Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band from 2016 will premiere on the cable channel at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on March 26. The band, which includes Todd Rundgren, Steve Lukather of Toto, Gregg Rolie of Santana, Richard Page of Mr. Mister, drummer Gregg Bissonnette and saxophonist Warren Ham, has been together as a unit since 2012.
The show was filmed at the Foellinger Theatre in Fort Wayne, Indiana on June 21, 2016. The set includes numerous songs from Ringo's Beatles and solo careers, including “You're Sixteen,” “Yellow Submarine,” “Photograph” and “With a Little Help From My Friends.” Rundgren sings on “I Saw the Light” and “Bang the Drum All Day,”' Santana's “Evil Ways,” Mr. Mister's “Kyrie” and many more.
The 2016 version of the All-Starr Band is the longest running version. Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band have toured in various configurations since 1989 and has included such regulars as Billy Preston, Levon Helm, Clarence Clemens, Dave Edmunds, Sheila E., Peter Frampton, Gary Brooker, Eric Carmen, Ian Hunter, Billy Squier and Edgar Winter.
Ringo Starr is currently working on a new solo album due for release this year. It will include contributions from his All-Starr Band members and others such as fellow Beatle, Paul McCartney, and his brother-in-law guitarist, Joe Walsh, who is married to Marjorie Bach, the sister of Ringo's wife Barbara Bach.
