Rasputina adds additional dates to Thanks for the Ether tour

This summer, cello-driven rock band Rasputina will be extending their current Thanks for the Ether tour with nine additional dates. At every one of the group’s upcoming tour dates, they will perform their 1996 debut album, Thanks for the Ether, in full. The band’s new dates will include stops in Baltimore, Atlanta, Nashville, St. Louis, Chicago and Cleveland as well as New York City for a show at the Big Apple’s own Rough Trade NYC.

As an added bonus, neo-folk singer-songwriter Eliza Rickman will be supporting the band for all of their August shows. Tickets for the added shows are on sale now.

Rasputina was formed in the early '90s after frontwoman Melora Creager posted a "musicians wanted" ad/manifesto in the Village Voice. After deciding on a final line, the group went about establishing their name in the New York rock scene. In 1996, the band was signed to Columbia Records, and with the release of their new album, began attracting a mainstream audience. Rasputina has since released six more albums of thrilling, idiosyncratic alternative rock.
