Pop punk kings Blink-182 just wanna have fun

In the future, when music historians compile a list of the greatest pop punk bands of all time, it would be hard to not see Blink-182 on the top of that list. Arguably one of the most influential pop punk bands ever, the band, whose original lineup included guitarist Tom Delonge, bassist Mark Hoppus, and drummer Scott Raynor, formed in 1992 and released a few demos until getting signed to San Diego record label Cargo Music for their 1995 debut album Cheshire Cat.

Things for the band really took off with 1997's Dude Ranch, an album which featured the singles "Dammit" and "Josie (Everything's Gonna Be Fine)". The band endured a massive touring schedule which included stints on Warped Tour and the SnoCore. It was around this time when Raynor was forced out of the band due to personal issues and Travis Barker, former drummer of the Huntington Beach ska punk group The Aquabats, stepped in.

Over the following years, the band achieved massive mainstream success with their next three records, 1999's Enema of the State, 2001's Take Off Your Pants and Jacket and 2003's self titled album, reaching multi-platinum status. Two years after their self-titled album, the band announced they would go on an indefinite hiatus.

At the 2009 Grammy Awards, all three members of Blink-182 joined each other on stage as award presenters. Soon enough, the band announced a reunion tour later that year with openers Fall Out Boy and Weezer. In September 2011, the band released Neighborhoods, their first studio album in eight years. That album debuted at number two on the Billboard Charts with 151,000 copies sold. The next year, the band self-released their Dogs Eating Dogs EP.

Seeing Blink-182 live is a must for fans of pop punk music. The band still have the same enthusiastic aura they possessed when they were touring in the 90s. You never know what might happen at one of the their shows. The band might drop an acoustic version of "What's My Age Again?" or "The Rock Show" during their fast paced set. Walk, don't run, to your nearest venue whenever Blink-182 hit up your town.
