The long awaited Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival is just about six weeks away. The two-day event is taking place on Sept. 26 and 27, 2015 and is the result of several years of work by founders Kevin Griffin, Brandt Wood, and Michael Whelan. The “pilgrimage” will take place at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, Tennessee and will include a lineup of more than 30 musicians, singers and songwriters including Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Weezer and The Decemberists.

The founders wanted to find a place rich in culture and music that wasn’t already home to an event like this. Co-founder Kevin Griffin (Better Than Ezra) is a resident of Franklin and has ties in the community. Franklin is also home to historic Civil War battlefields and is only 20 miles away from the music mecca, Nashville.

“When we first toured The Park at Harlinsdale Farm, we knew instantly that it was going to be home to Pilgrimage. It’s an amazing place for a festival,” said co-founder Michael Whelan in an interview with AXS. “The City of Franklin has been really supportive and have embraced this festival.”

Whelan says with the recent growth in music festival scene, they wanted to make sure that Pilgrimage appeals to a diverse audience. It will have food, wine and beer from local and regional purveyors, a retail bazaar and a children’s music lineup. The festival’s main lineup is roots focused with a lot of singer/songwriters and musicians.

“We are really proud of our lineup for a first year festival. The programming offers a little something for everyone. We needed to make sure that in this crowded festival world, we offered a unique and different experience. So we have asked each act to perform in a scaled down way. This will be something that patrons of the festival should really enjoy.” says Whelan.

Tickets for the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival are on sale now and start at $92 for a single day ticket, $172 for single day pass and $499 for VIP packages. Kids under 10 get in free with a ticketed adult. For more information or to buy tickets go to
