Some celebrities become famous through their own efforts while others may leverage famous family members. Hollywood’s reputation for nepotism appears deserved given the amount of second and third generation actors, musicians, writers and directors.

Armed with good genes and a healthy network, many actors break through under their parent’s names. Ben Stiller, Charlie Sheen, Miley Cyrus, Kiefer Sutherland, Jaden Smith; the list goes on.

There are others still who seek fame with less-familiar names but are publicly associated with their parents whether they like it or not; Kate Hudson, Angelina Jolie, Emilio Estevez, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicholas Cage.

But while many of Hollywood’s familial connections are easily recognizable, there are a few surprises in the mix.
