When thinking of "veteran" metal bands, groups like Black Sabbath, AC/DC, and Iron Maiden come to mind immediately, but there are plenty more out there these days who have been alive and kicking for more than three decades now. And one of which is the New Jersey thrash metal unit, Overkill, who's been around for a whopping 36 years now. And the band's history just keeps getting more and more pages added to it as a new one is currently being written...
Presently putting the finishing touches on an all-new studio album due out in 2017, Overkill has named their next 'baby' The Grinding Wheel. The forthcoming release will be the eighteenth for the band, and the follow-up to their 2014 release White Devil Armory.
And now these legendary thrash heroes have just given fans a pretty tantalizing taste of what they can look forward to in the new album via a lyric video for the song "Our Finest Hour" - click here to check it out now. A single for the song will officially be released during the first week of Overkill's massive European tour that will be kicking off on Nov. 4. And then just around the time that we can expect the official release of The Grinding Wheel, the Overkill guys will be back on North American soil for a heady tour beginning mid-February and with almost no days off until it wraps up mid-March.
Stay tuned to AXS for more information on Overkill's new album, the tour, and all things Overkill, as it becomes available.
