For music lovers who are vehemently devoted to their personal favorite bands, a year or two between albums can seem like a lifetime. And for fans of the legendary thrash metal band Overkill, the two long years since the release of their seventeenth studio album White Devil Armory has indeed felt like forever. But once we get 2016 over with and start 2017 off right, Overkill is going to make some very loyal thrash lovers very, very happy.
With a Feb. 10 release date penned-in, the forthcoming and eighteenth studio album from these New Jersey thrashers named The Grinding Wheel will be here before we know it. And the band has been leading us towards that anticipated day with a series of breadcrumbs, if you will - exciting album trailer videos to whet the appetite, and now a new music lyric video as well. The name of the song is "Mean, Green, Killing Machine" and it's the perfect thing to warm one up on these bleak winter days and nights while waiting for the album to hit the atmosphere.
"Lets keep this rolling, 'Mean, Green, Killing Machine', the opening track - brand new, from us to you! Bang thy head," exclaimed Overkill vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth.
