Singer/songwriter Jaime Whitton is back with a new single and is gearing up to begin a run in Times Square in a tribute show with her sister Stacey Whitton Summers. Whitton is one of L.A.'s best-kept secrets; an artist with a fresh take on big band music and her sister was on ABC's "The Next Best Thing."
You may have heard Whitton's voice before on CW's "Gossip Girls", Showtimes' "Dexter" and Delta Airlines to name a few. Her new single called, "Black and White to Color", (produced by Ben Burget) has been released and featured on the "Acting Outlaws Calendar Shoot" video featuring Battlestar Galactica's, Tricia Helfer and Katee Sackhoff and photographer, Dennys Ilic.
Her music features lyrics that paint beautiful images and vocal sounds that blend the styles of Billie Holiday, Norah Jones and Regina Spektor flawlessly. She was born to a musical family and is the youngest of six children.
Whitton will be sharing the stage with her sister Stacey when she returns to New York City to bring their acting and vocal talents to the Times Square stage in the musical tribute review show Legendary Divas. Headliner Stacey was in the world famous "Legends in Concert" as well as her one woman show, "Divas N Diamonds". Her recreations of Marilyn Monroe, Katy Perry, Shania Twain and Martina McBride have spot on vocals, look-a-like transformations and spectacular costumes, all complimented by special guests Whitton and a Michael Jackson tribute artist.
Whitton is fresh off of a live performance at the Independent Music Awards where she was nominated for Best Pop Album for Rare Bird. She will be singing some of her original music including her new single "Black and White to Color" in the Legendary Divas show as well as some classics from Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee. She will also be sharing her acting skills as a surprise celebrity icon. The show is filled with comedy, audience participation and incredible vocals.
The show will be running in Times Square at The Celebrity Theater from July 3rd to August 23rd for an 8-week run. Showtimes will be Friday-Saturday at 8:30 pm and Sunday at 3 pm. The sisters will be sharing the theater with the amazing "Edward Twins", who will be performing Mondays-Thursdays. To purchase tickets online you can go to here or here.
