Phish frontman Trey Anastasio and his band will be hitting the road this fall in anticipation of the group's new album Paper Wheels, which is due out in early 2015. The tour is set to kick off at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago on Nov. 28 and it will conclude with a performance at Tower Theatre in Philadelphia on Dec. 13.
A presale for Trey Anastasio Band's fall tour begins on Oct. 9 at noon EST. Tickets will be available for the general public beginning Thursday, Oct. 16. The tour includes two-night stands at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, the Orpheum Theatre in Boston and the Beacon Theatre in New York.
Fans who sign up for Anastasio's email newsletter can receive a free download of the dreamy new song “Bounce,” which will appear on Paper Wheels. Recorded in less than a week at The Barn, Paper Wheels is rooted in the upbeat jam-style that Anastasio continues to explore with each release. When recording, Anastasio and company performed live in one room, as opposed to each musician laying down their tracks separately. The result is a welcome departure from the over-produced music that is saturating today's radio airwaves.
Anastasio recently performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic to premiere his guitar and orchestral composition Petrichor. During the performance, he also jammed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic on orchestral versions of songs written for Phish. Scott Dunn of the L.A. Philharmonic conducted these very special shows.
Phish are set to embark on a twelve-date fall tour on Oct. 17 through Nov. 2. The legendary jam band will then take a brief break, during which Anastasio will tour with the Trey Anastasio Band, before kicking off their New Year's run at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami on Dec. 31.
