The Cult will cross the pond this winter for a coast-to-coast tour of the U.S. The veteran British rockers will be hitting the road in support of their 10th studio album Hidden City, which is set for release in multiple formats on Feb. 5 via Cooking Vinyl.
The multi-platinum sellers made the announcement on Jan. 11 via their official Facebook page. The "Fire Woman" hitmakers have dubbed the winter romp "Alive in the Hidden City."
The tour will kick off with a show Feb. 4 in Los Angeles at the Grammy Museum. The band will make several major stops, including dates in New York, Detroit, Chicago and Boston before wrapping up April 16 in Miami Beach, Florida, at Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater.
Pre-sales for select events begin Wed., Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public Fri., Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. local time. For more information, click here.
Produced by Bob Rock (Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Metallica), Hidden City features 12 tracks and is the third and final entry in a trilogy, which began with 2007's Born into This and 2012's Choice of Weapon. The album has been described by Cult lead guitarist Billy Duffy as "more guitar heavy" than previous albums and is notable for being the band's first album with bassist Grant Fitzpatrick and The Cult's first album since their 1994 self-titled album not to feature exiting bassist Chris Wyse.
“Hidden City is a metaphor for our spiritual lives, our intimate interior lives," frontman Ian Asbury told Loudwire about the new album. "I find today’s gurus are trying to peddle some cure, product or insight as if it’s a new phenomenon. My place is to respond, not react, to observe, participate and share through words and music. There is no higher authority than the heart.”
Hidden City is available for pre-order in a variety of bundle choices in CD, digital and vinyl formats. For more information, click here.
