Top Dawg Entertainment are staging a huge takeover in 2016, and it all starts here.

Late last year, the label confirmed that we would be getting new music from Tennesee rapper Isaiah Rashad sooner rather than later, saying “Locked and Loaded….. Almost ready 2 pull the trigger on you niggas….#TDE @isaiahrashad." Whether or not that's an album release is yet to be determined, as Rashad told a fan on Twitter who asked about an album in September when his song "Nelly" dropped that it would be "one thing at a time, slim" and that was all he wrote before going quiet on his socials.

We're finally getting a taste of that "locked and loaded" new music in the form of Rashad's new song "Smile". He proves himself to be a master of duality on the track, spitting the hottest of fire over a chilled out, relaxed beat. Its accompanying music video is simple, an artsy performance video drenched in red lights that matches the tone of the track perfectly.

The president of TDE, Dave "Miyatola" Free spoke to MTV about where the label will be heading in the new year, saying “By the time we come back around on this next go? Oh my goodness. It’s gonna crazy. We’re gonna have everybody hittin’.” He went on to say that "I’m excited for people to hear the new SZA album. I’m stupid excited for y’all to hear the Isaiah Rashad album. I’m stupid excited for y’all to hear the new Ab-Soul. I’m so excited for y’all to hear Q’s album. Oh my God.”
