“Let’s do this!” are the first words in the first song, “War,” that the Sick Puppies used to kick off their set at day one of this year’s Rock on the Range (ROTR). The band may have started in Australia but they’ve made a home right here in the U.S., and if their performance at Day 1 of this year’s Rock on the Range is any indication, they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

This marked the band’s fourth appearance at ROTR, having played previously in 2009, 2011, and 2013. It was also the ROTR debut of new lead singer Bryan Scott, who replaced former vocalist Shimon Moore, who departed the band in 2014. For his part, Scott belted out the tunes with aplomb, which included some of their better-known tunes like “Stick To Your Guns” along with lesser known gems like “Odd One” and “Black and Blue.” Alas, the band could only stick around for seen songs in all, as they had to clear the stage for Sevendust.
