OneRepublic had the fans swaying and singing along at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. The popular artists kept the music going and offered up a strong performance of their single “Counting Stars.” While fans at home got a chance to see the group on television, those fans who watched the performance live could hardly contain themselves. According to "Fansided" on Sunday, the performance was incredible as the tempo was changed in the middle of the song making it very exciting to watch.
Starting slow and softly, OneRepublic had fans feeling like they were at an acoustic show. As the song progressed, the song sped up and offered up a great ending to one of the highlights of the evening. Keeping the focus on the music, the fans were offered up a chance to hear the song in a new style, but from the original band who made the single a hit.
This might be one of the last times the fans get to hear “Counting Stars” live. According to "BillBoard Magazine" on Sunday, the band might not every play it on TV again. Thinking about retiring the song, the performance was one of the last scheduled times the fans could hear it outside of a concert setting. As popular has the music has become, viewers had to be sad at the decision. There is no doubt people are going to be watching the performance over and over on video.
OneRepublic will be returning to television this week as the band performs on “The Voice.” Preparing to sing for the finale, the single “Love Runs Out” is the scheduled performance. Looking to showcase new music, maybe it is time for the band to sing another song (and see if it becomes a hit.)
