Hollywood Walk of Fame honors the Backstreet Boys with their very own star

The Backstreet Boys have finally done it. They earned their very own star on the infamous Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is in the Hollywood section of Los Angeles called the 7000 block near the Live Nation building in California. Here the Backstreet Boys were honored with their own star that is located between the stars for the band Boyz II Men and The Osmonds. The ceremony took place on April 22 according to a news release from The Mercury.

A.J. McLean, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson and Nick Carter were joined by their families to witness this special event. All of the guys in the group spoke out emotional during the unveiling thanking their families, friends and fans for the success they are enjoying now.

This group has the highest record sales of all time from any all boy bands. Since 1993 they have sold more than 130 million records worldwide.

"I love you guys. And aside from my wedding day and the birth of my daughter, this is hands-down the best day of my life," a choked-up A.J. McLean said.

A teary-eyed Nick Carter also told the crowd, "I never ever imagined in a million years that we would be a part of this."

Meanwhile, Howie Dorough said, "I will one day be able to bring my family here. My kids will be able to bring their kids here and still be able to see the legacy that the Backstreet Boys have carried on for many years," while Brian Littrell joked, "I worked my entire life to never be walked on, but I'm OK with this one."

Kevin Richardson summed it up with, "What a beautiful day. What another beautiful way to celebrate 20 years together."

Congratulations to one and all!
