Ellie Goulding is still early into the release of her third album Delirium which hit stores in Nov. 2015. Though she's moving onto a new catchy single "Something in the Way You Move," lead single "On My Mind" makes strides over on the Billboard Adult Pop Songs chart. The hit moves from 4-1 on the chart, becoming her second No. 1 on the chart. The song's position is reflected on the Feb. 2 chart release date.
Adult Pop Songs is also known as Adult Top 40. The chart is for those who are not into listening to harder rock, adult contemporary (AC) or R&B/Hip-Hop. The main styles of music incorporated into Adult Pop Songs are alternative rock and mainstream pop, being a radio airplay only chart.
"On My Mind" also peaked at No. 5 on Pop Songs while peaking at No. 13 on the almighty Hot 100 after debuting at No. 22, Goulding's highest debut so far in her career. The single has sold nearly 810,000 digital downloads since its Sept. 17 release.
Goulding's second single "Something in the Way You Move" in North America and third overall is picking up as well. On the Pop Songs chart, "Something" moves up from No. 25 to No. 18 in its third week. The glistening pop track was produced by Greg Kurstin (P!nk, Kelly Clarkson), a rising star in the producer world who has no distinct sound compared to other hit makers.
Both songs come from Delirium which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. So far the album has sold 117,000 copies in the United States and also includes the mega hit "Love Me Like You Do" from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. "Love Me Like You Do" became Goulding's first Adult Pop Songs No. 1 in May 2015 as it tore up radio stations from coast to coast.
