After months of speculation, award-winning singer Celine Dion has announced she will resume her Las Vegas show starting with a performance in late summer.
A total of about 40 shows are scheduled for Dion’s Las Vegas residency, with the show kicking off August 27, 2015, and wrapping up January 17, 2016. Individual and group tickets are available. The show will be performed at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and tickets to the Las Vegas shows go on sale for the general public starting March 28 at 10 a.m. For additional details on tickets, including pricing information, check out The Colosseum’s website or AXS. The announcement regarding performance dates and ticket information was made via a press release and posted on the singer’s website on March 25. The residency is presented jointly by AEG Live and Caesars Entertainment, according to the press release.
Dion also thanked her fans. On her website, the announcement also included a message to fans: “Thank you for your loyalty to Celine and we hope to see you in Vegas!” And in a video message to fans posted on Dion’s website on March 24, the singer also said “You guys have been such supporters all of my life.” Fan reaction to the news was overwhelmingly positive, with several fans already posting plans to see Dion’s shows later this year. Some fans also wrote messages of support for Dion and her family. In interviews released last week, the singer had said she was planning to return to her Las Vegas show.
As noted in the press release, Dion’s residency in Las Vegas was put on hold in August 2014 so the singer could “focus on her husband Rene, their family, and associated health issues.” The singer’s return to the stage will likely be intense. In an interview with People Magazine’s Jennifer Garcia and posted online on March 25, the singer said “I promise there will be high, happy notes,” but also noted the opening night would be an “emotional” experience for her.
In Dion’s previous shows in Las Vegas, the setlist has included performances of a number of her hit songs, with “Where Does My Heart Beat Now,” “Because You Loved Me” and “My Heart Will Go On” on the list. It has not been announced as of press time which songs will be included in Dion's setlist for the upcoming shows in Sin City.
