Yesterday was the start of Rock on the Range 2016. We’re talking 10th anniversary mayhem featuring the blazing guitar fury of Disturbed, Shinedown, Six:A.M., Megadeth, Asking Alexandria, We Came as Romans, Butcher Babies, Enter Shikari, and more. Nothing in the world is better than a hardcore band rocking so loud the very foundation of the stadium threatens to crumble from the relentless pounding of a savagely overdriven sonic maelstrom.
Well, nothing is better except the fans! Without fans, there are no stars. According to the Internet, Regina Spektor has stated, “This is the way I want to die. Torn apart by angry fans who want me to play a different song.” In her book “You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost)” Felicia Day expressed “my career has been built fan by fan. I wouldn’t trade that relationship, or collection of dolls of myself, for all the money and fame in the world.” And, when talking about her fans, Lady Gaga has reportedly professed, “They protect me, so now it’s my destiny to protect them.”
Being on stage is pretty cool, but being in the crowd, that’s really where all the action is! Just check out the above slideshow of epic crowd shots from Amy Harris and Daniel DeSlover to see for yourself. And be sure to keep it here on AXS.com all weekend long for continued coverage of this year’s Rock on the Range festival!
