Boston Calling Music Festival, the bi-annual Boston rock and roll festival, will return for the fifth time and have announced a jaw-dropping lineup. One particular headliner even made this writer fall over in excitement and shock. Boston Calling will take place Memorial Day weekend May 22, 23, and 24, 2015 in City Hall Plaza.
On January 14, 2015 the lineup was announced and includes headliners, Beck, a rock man who knows where it's at, and The Pixies, an alternative rock band that will provide their classic songs as well as songs off their latest album Indie Cindy. Also joining the impressive bill is My Morning Jacket, Tame Impala, Vance Joy, TV on the Radio, Tenacious D and Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals and many more.
Early bird tickets will go on sale January 14, 2015 at 12 p.m. EST on ticketmaster with promo code "BOSTON." Presale prices for three day general admission tickets are only $160 and presale for three day VIP admission tickets are $300. Regular tickets will go on sale Friday, January 16, 2015 with three day general admission tickets being $185 and three day VIP admission tickets being $375. VIP is worth the extra money with an overlook of the entire City Hall Plaza from the City Hall Courtyard, VIP only bathrooms, private bar, its own food pavilion, comfortable places to sit, and easy in and out access.
The specific daily schedule will be announced later but one of the most wonderful parts of Boston Calling is the dual stages. Even if two bands are performing back to back none of the performances will ever overlap and patrons will never have to wait to hear more music. If going stage to stage doesn't sound appealing it's comforting to know that Boston Calling Music Festival has an excellent production team making every place in the plaza a great one to hear any band and with the large screens complimenting each stage fans will be able to see up close and personal.
Whether a returning fan or a first-timer attending, Boston Calling Music Festival is an incredible musical experience that everyone should have at least once.
