The Exhange Club of Naperville's Annual Ribfest is being held on the Fourth of July weekend, July 1-4, 2016. The festival opens at noon and closes at 10 p.m. each day of the festival, which is held in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.
Ribfest is known for its tantalyzing selection of tasty ribs and for its top-notch entertainment. This year's musical lineup includes headliners Sheryl Crow, Gin Blossoms, 3 Doors Down, and Lee Brice. A Fourth of July fireworks show illuminates the sky on Mon. night at 9:30 p.m..
The Exchange Club of Naperville was chartered in 1987 and has raised more than $14.5 million to local charities through its service activities at Ribfest.The festival is fun, but it also serves a good cause. The festival is famed for its barbecued ribs, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, and tasty sauces, all cooked up by BBQ experts from around the nation. Ribfest is a nationally recognized BBQ contest, with 12 rib vendors competing for cash prizes, including Best Ribs, Best Sauce, and Kid's Choice.
This year's ribbers are Mojo's, Texas Outlaws BBQ, Armadillo's BBQ & Rib Company, Porky 'N' Beans National BBQ Cooking Team, Robinson's No. 1 Ribs, Smokin' Joe's Hog Wild Barbeque, Pigfoot BBQ Cooking Teem, Uncle Bub's, Desperado's BBQ & Rib Co., Howling Coyote and Company, Sgt. Oink's BBQ Co., and Bar-B-Que Colonel.
Ribfest is known for its' ribs, but there are other foods available. The Miller Lite Tents offers cold beverages to wash down whichever food you choose. Miller Lite is a strong partner with Ribfest in the fight against child abuse.
The musical lineup on the Navistar Main Stage on Fri. includes: Kashmir (4 p.m.), Moon Taxi (6 p.m), and 3 Doors Down (8 p.m.). The Sat. lineup includes : Seventh Heaven (4 p.m.), Sister Hazel (6 p.m.), and Sheryl Crow (8 p.m.). On Sun. the lineup includes: Derringer and Rye (3 p.m.), Billy Croft & the 5 Alarm (4 p.m.), Craig Campbell (6 p.m.) and Lee Brice (8 p.m.). The lineup for Mon., July 4, includes: Tonic (4 p.m.) Gin Blossoms (6 p.m.) and Tres Moustache (8 p.m.).
Ribfest is a family friendly event, and offers free and low cost activities for kids and families. The free family area has a petting zoo and inflatables to entertain the family. Family Fun general admission is available from noon to 3 p.m. daily. Adult tickets are $12 and kids 11 and under are always free when accompanied by a paid adult. The $10 Carnival Bracelet, available from noon - 3 p.m., gets unlimited carnival rides.
General admission tickets to the festival are $20, but the prices go up to $50 or $125 for a 'front of stage' location or the VIP tent. Ribfest is held at Knoch Park in Naperville, Ill.
Naperville Exchange Club's Ribfest is unique among the area festivals because it sells great food and offers a terrific lineup on entertainment, all in the name of helping victims of child abuse. Some of the other big festival in the Chicago suburbs include the Lisle Eyes to the Skies Festival, Northwest Fourth Fest in Hoffman Estates, Arlington Heights Freedom Fest, and Palatine Jaycees Hometown Fest.
