Next month, the city of Chicago will be treated to sets from some of the funniest comedians in the world thanks to The Onion and A.V. Club's 3rd Annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival presented by truTV. The event, which takes place at various venues across the city on June 1-5, has a stellar overall lineup, but there are a few show's that comedy fans absolutely can't miss.

Reggie Watts and His Band Karen

A rock concert, hysterical stand-up and a whole lot of innovation and creativity comprise every Reggie Watts' show. Along with His Band Karen, the comedian is set to perform his mind-altering brand of comedy at Thalia Hall on June 4. As thought-provoking as he is hilarious, Watts will expand your way of thinking about performance – and life – when he takes the stage.

Chris Gethard

“The Chris Gethard Show” host, Chris Gethard, is not only one of the funniest stand-up comedians performing at the 3rd Annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival, but he is also one of the most candid. He will be diving into some of the “funniest parts of life” – suicide, depression, alcoholism, etc – when he performs at Thalia Hall on Thursday, June 2. Chicago-based comedian, Goodrich Gevaart, will also be on hand for added laughs.

Tracy Morgan

This one is a no-brainer. Tracy Morgan is set to open the festival on June 1 with a show at the Civic Opera House. The “Saturday Night Live” alum has been receiving rave reviews for his Picking Up the Pieces Tour, so don't miss the opportunity to see him perform at one of the most beautiful venues in the entire city.

Sarah Silverman and Friends

Sarah Silverman alone is always a must-see set, but when you add Todd Barry, Todd Glass and Dwayne Kennedy to the mix, the show becomes downright mandatory. Silverman & Friends will be closing out the festivities at the Civic Opera House on Sunday, June 5.

Anything at The Hideout

The Hideout is a great venue to see any show, but whenever a comedian performs at the intimate club, magic happens. The vibe is cool and relaxed and performers seem to feel comfortable to play around with the crowd and improvise. On June 3, The ClickHole writers are presenting “Amazing: A Live Show at the Hideout” featuring special guest, Jacy Catlin. The following night finds The Hideout hosting Ian Abramson and guests for a 7 p.m. “7 Minutes in Purgatory” show and Jo Firestone – along with Martin Morrow – will be performing at 10 p.m.
