Fans in attendance at Tony Bennett’s historic shows at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on Saturday night were provided with a melodic surprise from none other than Lady Gaga. The Joanne singer came out to join Bennett to perform a pair of duets including “Cheek to Cheek” and the timeless hit, “The Lady is a Tramp.”
Bennett was at the famous outdoor venue this weekend with a pair of shows celebrating the 55th anniversary of his first ever performance at the Hollywood Bowl back on July 13, 1962. Gaga wouldn’t even come into this world for another 20-plus years, but was in fine singing shape as she joined her former collaborator for his memorable evening. Videos of Gaga's surprise cameo can be watched below.
“How about a nice round of applause for this beautiful band tonight,” Gaga can be heard saying while taking a break from slow dancing with Bennett. The two released a duets album back in 2014 with Cheek to Cheek, and many speculated she may even bring him out to perform together ahead of her Super Bowl Halftime performance back in February.
“To this day, I’m still thinking of doing another album with her,” Bennett recently gushed about Gaga to Billboard while discussing the pair of Hollywood Bowl shows. “And she’s just a wonderful artist to perform with and a great person that we love very much."
Both Gaga and Bennett fans should also remember the two performing at the Hollywood Bowl together back in 2015.
