The band uses a wide range of influences on the album, including Grizzly Bear, The Talking Heads, The Beatles, and Crosby, Stills & Nash. King Washington are winning over their increasing fanbase, and have recently become LA Weekly's top live shows in Los Angeles. King Washington is currently on tour in the US through April 1. Pre-ordering for Potential begins March 31 for digital, CD, and vinyl.
Lead singer and guitarist, Tyson Kelly, says that with 'My Reflection,' "We're stepping out of our comfort zone a bit with this track, making a more keyboard and synth heavy arrangement, while still managing to keep our signature vocal harmonies in order. Much like LA LA land, the song is an ode to dreamers, doers and rebels, who create not for what is expected, but for what intended. The video style tends to match the punchy pulse of the song without getting to obnoxious and choppy. It was a fun project to edit, messing with all the different layers of footage beneath the silhouette, while capturing the ever endless longing to make the scary move to NYC."
Rounding out the full band are additional lead guitarist and vocalist, George Krikes, bassist and vocalist, Billy Lee, and drummer, David Contreras.
