It may be cold and grim in much of the U.S. right now, but a warmer concert season is coming into focus in the near future, and with it a headlining tour from the Swedish progressive metal masters, Katatonia

Still riding high on the success of their May 2016 release, The Fall of Hearts, Katatonia is planning not only a return to North America for this coming spring, but also what might qualify for a take-over as well - and fans couldn't be more thrilled. Armed with the still-new album, Katatonia will embark on their "The Fallen Hearts of North America" headlining tour in March. Kicking things off on March 16 in Washington, D.C., they'll wrap around the hearts of audience members in both the U.S. and Canada before wrapping things up on April 21 in New York City. The post-rock group Caspian as well as the progressive metal until Uncured will also be on the bill.

But that's far from all that Katatonia's got in store for 2017. Due out on Jan. 20 is a limited edition, tenth anniversary release of their album The Great Cold Distance. This special anniversary package will include B-sides and bonus songs, a new 5.1 remix of the album, and a live recording of Katatonia performing The Great Cold Distance in its entirety alongside the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra in Bulgaria. And then on March 17, a brand new, two-disc tour edition of The Fall of Hearts will be unleashed including live tracks performed at Katatonia's show at the Ancient Theater in Plovdiv Bulgaria in September 2016. Pre-orders are now available here
