nimino について
nimino is one of the most exciting names in electronic music. His 2024 hit I Only Smoke When I Drink has surpassed 250 million streams, charted on the UK Singles Chart, and spent over 20 weeks on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Chart. He followed I Only Smoke When I Drink with his Creek EP in March 2025, which was then followed by a series of notable single releases.
nimino has performed at major festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Leeds Fest, Boomtown, Field Day, Cercle, CRSSD, and Lightning in a Bottle, as well as sold-out headline shows at venues globally.
He is signed to Ninja Tune’s Counter Records.
Before he began releasing and performing music under the moniker nimino, Milo Evans’ musical journey started in his teenage years growing up in the UK as a way to channel his ADHD. Beginning with simple loop-stitching on an Asus laptop, music quickly became an obsession. By the time he finished studying music technology in Brighton, he had created the equivalent of eight albums’ worth of material. His first release as nimino in 2013—a slo-mo, bass-inflected take on Pixies’ Where Is My Mind—marked the beginning of his career when it amassed hundreds of thousands of plays on SoundCloud and earned him the title of Huffington Post’s “Artist of the Month.”
By 2020, nimino had cultivated an engaged community across his social platforms and launched a series called songs for people you may know, where he created custom songs for fans. “I’d go on Instagram, and people would give me ideas to build a song around,” he explains. “It felt like a perfect way to connect with fans and show how fast I could make a decent song in a variety of styles.” Early in the series, someone requested a track that would be the perfect festival opener. “I made something with a long build-up and a huge emotional drop. A week or so later, I played it live, and people went crazy.” That track, Opening Credits, released in 2022, quickly became a fan favorite.
Since then, nimino has released several singles and an EP, with each new release continuing the journey of the nimino character through its artwork. “The nimino character symbolizes the journey my musical tastes have taken—more so by the environments he’s ended up in through no choice of his own. The travels he goes on accompany the music I’m making, and vice versa, but he’s also sort of nothing to do with me personally—just a little guy on an expedition through different spaces, discovering different sounds.”
