Journey announces expanded reissue of 'Live in Manila'

Journey fans waiting with bated breath to catch the band on their 2016 North American summer tour with The Doobie Brothers can also look forward to an expanded reissue of their 2009 DVD "Live in Manila." The video album will hit shelves Sept. 9 via Eagle Rock in DVD+2CD, Blu-ray+2CD, as well as digital formats and will feature the concert on audio disc for the first time ever.

Blabbermouth reports on July 19 that the concert film captures the multi-platinum seller's performance on March 14, 2009 in Manila, Philippines at SM Mall Of Asia in 4K resolution, employing RED technology. The show had special significance for the "Don't Stop Believin'" hitmakers as it marked the homecoming of the pioneering San Francisco prog-rocker's then newly acquired lead singer Arnel Pineda.

Manila fans showed their love for their hometown hero and Journey responded with an inspired show, jammed with greatest hits, beloved album tracks, as well as songs from their 2008 studio album Revelation. With 19 U.S. top 40 singles, the lineup, which also features founding member Neal Schon (lead guitar); Jonathan Cain (keyboards); Ross Valory (bass); and recently departed drummer Deen Castronovo, delivered the goods, serving up a 26-song setlist that included loads of greatest hits like "Open Arms," "Be Good To Yourself," "Stone in Love and "Faithful."

Pre-order information is TBA. See below for the complete "Live in Manila" track listing.

Recently reunited with classic-era drummer Steve Smith, Journey are currently in the midst of The San Francisco Fest 2016 Tour. The summer romp, which also features The Doobie Brothers and special guest ex-Traffic co-founder Dave Mason, kicked off May 12, 2016 in Irvine, California and will wrap up Sept. 4 in San Francisco at AT&T Park as part of San Francisco Fest. On The Green with the lineup also featuring Santana and Steve Miller for one night only.

Journey and company's next U.S. stop will be July 27 in Nashville, Tennessee, at Ascend Amphitheater. Tickets for select Journey dates are available at AXS.
