Look out Times Square, Jencarlos Canela is about to make history in New York City on New Year’s Eve. The Cuban-American singer and composer will celebrate not only with millions at Time Square but also with worldwide television viewers as he presses the New Year's Eve ball button for the final 60 second countdown to ring in the New Year.
Canela, first Latin artist to do the honors, was chosen by the Times Square Alliance, Countdown Entertainment and the International Rescue Committee based on his successful attributes as an artist, actor, host and philanthropist. It will mark Canela as the most important momentum in his career.
