The first-ever RiNo Music Festival is scheduled to hit Denver this Friday, August 26. Unlike past events in the neighborhood, the RiNo Music Festival will take place in a dedicated, open-air space featuring on-site food trucks, local artists and tasty craft beer, along with amazing local and national talent. Got questions? We’ve got answers.
Who is playing the RiNo Music Festival?
SoCal alt rockers Silversun Pickups are headlining the festival. The band’s latest album Better Nature was released last fall and it’s a fine showcase for their signature sound, a blend of soft-loud dynamics and fuzzy guitar licks. Joining them is the crazy catchy synth pop outfit St. Lucia, the project of Brooklyn-based Jean-Philip Grobler. Rounding out the bill is local favorite 888, whose hooky synth rock is gaining serious momentum, recent Coldplay opener Bishop Briggs and the cinematic dance poppers A Silent Film, who kick things off at 4:30pm.
Nice, lots of fun music. Where is the festival at again?
RiNo Live! is at a brand new event space located at 3715 Chestnut Pl., just west of the intersection of 38th and Brighton Blvd. You can enter next to the box office, which is just west of the brand new Blue Moon Brewery at 38th and Chestnut. Check out the map above for more information.
I’m new to Denver. How do I get there exactly?
First off, welcome to Denver, but maybe don’t go around advertising your newbie status too much, some people are sensitive. As far as getting there, we recommend taking your bike straight up the South Platte River Bike Trail or jumping on the light rail to the station at 38th and Blake. If you’re one of those types who prefers to drive instead of taking Uber or Lyft, you can park at the Denver Coliseum and walk over.
Cool and thanks for the tip, I’ve noticed the natives are restless
Don’t mention it. Literally.
What else is going on at the festival?
Plenty! Vendors include TH!S Project and James Murray Art, jewelry by Salt Fox Designs, the Old Gold fashion truck, Groupon To-Go and reps from Rino Arts District. There will also be food trucks and beer from the master brewers at Blue Moon.
Blue Moon makes such great beer
They really do. Just keep in mind, you’ll want to bring cash, no credit cards will be accepted by vendors or at the merch tent.
Good looking out. Anything else I should know?
Yeah, do you have kids?
Bro, I just moved to Denver; obviously not!
Whoa man, just asking. Because if you DO have kids, they’re welcome, since this is an all ages event. In fact, if they’re under 5, admission is free.
Cool, think I’m all set. Wait, duh, where do I get tickets?
We got you right here on AXS.com. Or you can pick them up at the box office, which opens at 2pm the day of the show. Have fun!
