The Fourth of July will be celebrated in Kansas City, Mo. with special events and family-friendly entertainment so the family can enjoy the patriotic holiday. People enjoy the food, fireworks and fun associated with Independence Day in the U.S. Following are some free events that you can enjoy for the Fourth of July in Kansas City.

KC Riverfest
July 4 @ 4 p.m.
Berkley Riverfront Park, River Front Rd., Kansas City, MO 64120

KC Riverfest is the premier Fourth of July event in Kansas City. The festival and fireworks are free for children 12 and under, but there is a $5 admission fee for teens and adults. Parking will be $10 and space is limited, but there will be a free shuttle pick up from 3rd and Grand to the festival gate. The festival will feature entertainment on three stages. Food trucks will offer concessions, food and drinks for sale. The fireworks show over the Missouri River will start at 9:40 p.m.

Liberty 4th Fest
July 3 @ 5:30 p.m.
Fountain Bluff Sports Complex, 2200 Old State Hwy 210, Liberty, MO 64120

Liberty 4th Fest will offer free family entertainment including kids activities and music by Americana Floyd, a Pink Floyd tribute band. Food and refreshments will be offered at the Beer Garden and by food trucks. The fireworks display will start at 10 p.m.

Fort Leavenworth Salute to the Union and 4th of July Celebration
July 4 @ 3 p.m.
Merritt Lake, Grant Ave., Fort Leavenworth, KS 66027

Salute to the Union will feature family-friendly entertainment, including games, bounce houses and a parachute demonstration by the Kansas State University Parachute team. The fireworks show will begin at dusk. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit upon. This event is free and open to the public.

Parkville July 4th Celebration 2017

The festival in Parkville will be an old-fashioned event featuring carnival rides, food, fun, games, music, a parade and a fireworks finale. The annual Parkville July 4th Celebration parades will be on July 4, starting at 10 a.m. The festival’s grand finale will be on July 4, starting at 7:30 p.m. with music by the Parkville Symphonic Band at Park University. The Falcon SkyDiving Exhibition will be at Platte Landing Park. The fireworks show will begin at 9:30 p.m.

Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular

Celebrate the 4th of July with an evening of entertainment in Overland Park. The festival will include music and children’s activities. Food and refreshments will be sold by vendors. Fees are required for some children’s activities. The fireworks show, presented by The City of Overland Park, will begin at 9:40 p.m.

Jackson County’s “Big Bang” 4th of July Celebration

The Big Bang 4th of July Celebration will be by the beach. The event includes music by '80s chart toppers The Romantics (“That’s What I Like About You”) and local band Barb Wire Revolt. There will be Military Salutes and Skydive KC at the festival. 14 food trucks will offer a huge assortment of food and refreshments for sale. The fireworks will begin at 9:45 p.m. Admission will be free.
