RIVERMAYA

Rivermaya is a Filipino alternative rock band. Formed in 1994, it is one of the several bands who spearheaded the 1990s Philippine alternative rock explosion.

Vocalist Bamboo Mañalac later joined the band, which started off with Rico Blanco, Mark Escueta, and Nathan Azarcon. They set off on an incredible trip, creating a sound that really connected with its listeners. They shot to stardom with the 1994 release of their self-titled debut album, "Rivermaya," which solidified their place in the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) scene.

Many of the singles on Rivermaya's catalog have grown to be legendary in the Philippine music industry. Popular songs such as "214," "Hinahanap-Hanap Kita," "Kisapmata," and "Elesi" have left a lasting impression on Filipino music enthusiasts. Their songs were popular throughout Southeast Asia in addition to dominating local charts. Rivermaya is one of the top thirty best-selling artists in Philippine history.

As a result of their chart-topping success, Rivermaya was recognized as one of the most influential bands in the region and received multiple honors and accolades, including distinction from the MTV Asia honors and the Awit Awards
