Now it is clear that Swedish hockey fans will once again have the chance to experience world-class hockey as four NHL clubs once again gather to meet in a European city, this time the chance has come to Avicii Arena, Stockholm on November 16-19, 2023. Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota Wild, Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs!

Tickets for all matches go on sale Wednesday, May 3!

The National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA), in partnership with Live Nation, can announce today that the Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota Wild, Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs will be coming to Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on November 16–19 to meet in four regular season matches. These games will be the 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th series games played in Stockholm, which has hosted more NHL regular season games outside of North America than any other city.

Each team will play 2 regular season games in Stockholm as part of the NHL Global Series – Sweden:

Thursday, Nov. 16, at 8 p.m. - Detroit Red Wings vs. Ottawa Senators (TV10 & Viaplay)

Friday, Nov. 17, at 8 p.m. - Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Detroit Red Wings (TV6 & Viaplay)

Saturday, Nov. 18, at 5 p.m. - Minnesota Wild vs. Ottawa Senators (TV6, Viaplay)

Sunday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. - Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Minnesota Wild (TV6, Viaplay)

The 2023 NHL Global Series is presented by Live Nation, with official partners CCM, Fastenal, SAP and Upper Deck. Aftonbladet and Viaplay are official media partners. Tickets and travel packages for the NHL Global Series 2023 – Sweden will be released on Wednesday, May 3 at 10:00 a.m.

To date, 38 NHL regular season games have been played outside of North America, of which 32 have been played within Europe. There have been 13 regular NHL series games played in Sweden, of which 12 have been played at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm. NHL Global Series 2023 will be the tenth season overall that the NHL travels to Europe to play regular season games. The matches are a reward for the legions of loyal and passionate fans in Europe who are given the chance to experience NHL matches via international media partners such as YLE, Nova, Sky Sports, ProSieben and Viaplay, along with the NHL's streaming service, NHL.TV. The NHL's biggest stars are also available on multiple social media platforms and on in eight different languages for the league's international fans.

NHL Global Series 2023 – Sweden highlights four NHL clubs in a European city for regular season games where the Maple Leafs will make their debut in Europe and play a regular season game outside of North America, while Toronto becomes the 26th team in the NHL to play such a game. It is the second time both the Red Wings and Wild have traveled overseas to play regular season playoff games, and the third time for the Senators. Results from previous regular season games played outside of North America for Detroit, Minnesota and Ottawa are listed below, along with links to a complete history of NHL preseason games and regular season games played outside of North America.

Pittsburgh played Ottawa in the 2008 NHL Premiere in Stockholm (Pittsburgh 4 – Ottawa 3 (OT), October 4, 2008; Ottawa 3 – Pittsburgh 1, October 5, 2008)

St. Louis met Detroit in the 2009 NHL Premiere in Stockholm (St. Louis 4 – Detroit 3, October 2, 2009; Detroit 3 – St. Louis 5, October 3, 2009)

Carolina traveled to Helsinki for the 2010 NHL Premiere, where they defeated Minnesota in two games (Carolina 4 – Minnesota 3, October 7, 2010; Minnesota 1 – Carolina 2 (OT) October 8, 2010)
Ottawa played Colorado in the 2017 NHL Premiere in Stockholm (Ottawa 4 – Colorado 3 (OT) on November 10, 2017; Colorado 3 – Ottawa 4 on November 11, 2017).

The NHL is a global league, with more than 30 percent of NHL players this season born outside of North America. There are a total of 35 players with European nationality in the Red Wings, Wild, Senators and Maple Leafs, including 20 players with Swedish nationality:
