The Sonder sound is uniquely designed by singer Brent Faiyaz and producers Atu & Dpat. The trio's collective taste creates rich, warm, layered, sexy, soulful r&b. Reminiscent of 90's & early 2000's song structure and simplicity, Dpat and Atu effortlessly layer live textures while Brent¹s carefully written and delivered vocals compliment this power of three.
By definition, Sonder is the realization that each random passerby lives a life as vivid and complex as your own and with that, our unique experiences all flow into one another. This is exactly what Sonder's Into project alludes a cohesive and flowing body of work, a story. Preludes to Into were told through a short mixes series released mysteriously in winter 2016.
