The Governors Ball music festival is being held Randall's Island Park in New York City on June 3-5, 2016. The popular three day music festival features four stages of music and multiple genres of music. This is the sixth Governors Ball festival, which celebrated its fifth anniversary last year.

Governors Ball is one of the hottest festivals of summer. New York Times named it on their list 50 essential festivals of 2016. The Governors Ball has been the destination festival of New York City for five. years, according to the New York Times. They did note that the new Panorama Festival, which debuts on Randall Island on July 22-24, will pose a challenge to the Governors Ball. The competition could well make both festivals even better.

This year's lineup sees the return of hit headliners Kanye West and The Strokes, who have performed in past seasons. The 2016 lineup also includes popular Top 50 acts, such as The Killers, Robyn, Haim, Miguel, Courtney Barnett, Chvrches, Eagles of Death Metal, Jamie WW, Torres, M83, Gary Clark Jr., Miike Snow, and Bully.

The GovBallNYC Stage features Beck and The Strokes on Friday. The headliner on the GovBallNYC Stage on Saturday is The Killers. Kanye West, the headliner on Sunday, is the final act on the GovBallNYC Stage.

The music starts at about noon and plays until 11 p.m. on each day of the festival, offering three full days of music. Festival-goers should use the schedule to plan their day and make sure to see their favorite acts while they have the chance.
