Kansas City’s best rock festival is as unpretentious as its name. Rockfest is set to go down on June 3 at the Kansas Speedway and the festival, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, promises to have a little something for all types of rock fans, from classic artists like Sammy Hagar to ‘80s metal groups like Ratt and Cinderella’s Tom Keifer to ‘90s alt rock staples Candlebox and Collective Soul, as well as hard rock favorites like Volbeat and the show’s headliner, Godsmack.
As with any festival, attendees are in for some hard decisions in terms of who to see, but thankfully, Rockfest’s two stage setup ensures that there’s not an overwhelming number of choices. The day kicks off at noon with Zakk Wylde performing the National Anthem and concludes with a midnight fireworks show. What happens in between is entirely up to you.
